SUBMISSIONS ARE CLOSED

The 2015 Medialounge will be held at the Westbeth Gallery in the West Village. The exhibition will be open November 14 - 29, 2015.

MediaLounge offers emerging and established digital installation and performing artists the opportunity to exhibit new works and participate in the dialogue surrounding these works in the contemporary art world. The program provides artists exhibition space and an honorary stipend. Our staff is on-site throughout the installation processes to provide technical support and to respond to the needs of the selected artists.

ELIGIBILITY

You are probably eligible to submit to MediaLounge. Unless you are an unchaperoned robot. Or a disembodied consciousness trapped in a mainframe. Or an alien.

SELECTION PROCESS

A panel of arts professionals, creative technologists, and artists will review applications and select artists for the 2015 exhibit. Artists will be selected based on the quality of their work, their creative repurposing of technologies, and their potential for engaging and surprising audiences. All applicants will be notified by email a week after submission deadline.

WORKSHOPS

A crucial part of MediaLounge is demystifying the magic of technology. We're interested in helping your audience understand the how and the why of a piece of art in addition to its function. To that end, please indicate if you are interested leading a workshop around some of the tools and techniques you used in creating your work. Think of it less like pulling back the curtain on the wizard and more like a stroll down the yellow brick road of your process.

APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS

Applications must include:

1. Statement of Objective (In 250 words or less, describe your piece. Please include material needs and setup requirements.)

2. Artist Statement (In 250 words or less, write a statement about your work and your process.)

3. Bio (100 words or less)

4. Resume (Please include your name, address, phone number and email address in this document along with exhibition and educational background.)

IMAGES
